User-gen Election Day Coverage

Before reading any further, drop what you are doing and vote.

It’s a rainy day in Seattle. Conventional wisdom says that’s good news for the Republicans. Last time we elected a Governor in this state, the outcome was decided after three counts and only a few hundred votes. Local and national media covered the debacle for days. TV and Newspapers did their best to deliver the facts. Tempers flared on talk radio. Of course there was blog coverage, but there wasn’t really a ongoing conversation that voters could engage in about the developing story.

This election season, that simply isn’t the case. With the explosion of new social media tools that allow anyone to broadcast their views in real time and the tecnology to tread those shared views into conversations, it is a great year to for dangling chads, dead men voting and recounts.
